​HwiHwi deeply values the materiality film, using it as a medium in photography, 16mm film, and playwriting to visually express personal stories rooted in her hometown, Jeju Island. HwiHwi believes that certain events from her hometown are not simply isolated incidents but could resonate globally in recurring cycles. With a sense of melancholy toward mortality, HwiHwi creates visual narratives depicting scenes of unknown disasters, capturing the people and stories within these moments.

필름의 물성을 중요시 여기며 이를 재료로 사진, 16mm 영화, 희곡 글쓰기를 통해 고향 제주와 그 속의 본인의 이야기를 시각적으로 풀어낸다. 고향에서 일어난 특정 사건들이 사건으로 그저 끝나는 것이 아닌 지구적으로 반복될 수 있는 것이라고 생각한다. 이 알려지지 않은 재난 상태를 마주한 장면과 그 속의 사람들의 모습과 이야기를 다양한 매체를 활용해 이야기하고 있다.
